twinkle star sprites is an arcade video game made by ADK and published by SNK for the neo geo back in 1996.

STORY

this game stars ran and rabbicat, looking for twinkle star. which can grant any wish to your hearts desire.

this game peeked my interest for awhile now. i like some shmups in my life. and i have alot of things to say about this game!

the main gameplay is different from any shmups from the time. going against the CPU (or a friend. if you have any.), your main goal is to try and knock down the CPU/2P, and get as much chaining attacks as possible

you have a heart meter, including 5 hearts. taking hits can lower your health, either by enemies or attacks your opponent makes. most of the attacks your own opponent makes deals more damage.

you can have up to 2 bombs, which can clear out any enemies on screen. you also have a power meter. where as if you hold down your shoot button, can make a large attack with a larger range, this makes killing enemies easier

probably the most notable thing about this game is chaining attacks. where as if you kill one enemy in a line, it can kill the rest off, making a chain reaction and can increase a high chance of attacking your enemies with large bullets

MY OPINIONS ON THIS GAME

very cute!

this game has some unique characters with some unique personalities. my favorite character has to be macky so far because she is awesome. 2nd place being memory. shes cute and very pretty

some of the cutscenes made me chuckle alittle bit. the english translation isnt too bad, either.

SOME NEGATIVES

this game has slowdown problems when theres too much going on.

mevious' bomb attack hurts my eyes (due to it flashing).
